'Final Fantasy XIV' Collaborates with Mountain Dew for Exclusive Giant Bird Mount

A unique collaboration between the beloved 'Final Fantasy' video game series and the popular soda brand, Mountain Dew, has introduced a new giant bird mount named Mountain Zu in the 'Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail' expansion. This limited-time offer allows players to obtain the Mountain Zu mount by purchasing specially marked Mountain Dew drinks in the United States. By redeeming the codes found inside the beverage caps, players can unlock the exclusive in-game mount as well as other exciting prizes.Mountain Dew Gaming has teamed up with @FF_XIV_EN to commemorate the upcoming launch of FFXIV: Dawntrail. They will be offering exclusive FFXIV gear through Mountain Dew Gaming Rewards and joining in-game events to prepare for the new expansion.

In a description of the collaboration, Mountain Dew Gaming explains that the Mountain Zu is a unique subspecies of the zu creature found in the mountainous areas of the Near East. Alchemists in Hannish developed a special brew to tame the bird, resulting in a refreshing citrus scent emitted by the creature.

Along with the Mountain Zu mount, players have the chance to win prizes such as a Mountain Dew Pop gaming pad, a one-month Xbox Game Pass membership, a TimTheTatman mug, and a 'Final Fantasy XIV' online starter edition. Initially, director and producer of 'Final Fantasy XIV,' Naoki Yoshida, was surprised by the collaboration, likening it to a joke. The partnership began on Thursday and will run until July 14, coinciding with the release of 'Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail' on July 2.
