Apple's iMessage faced a brief interruption on Thursday, with users complaining on social media about messages not being sent or taking an unusually long time to deliver. The issue affecting some users of the messaging app was resolved by Apple on Thursday afternoon. Thousands of outage reports were documented on DownDetector shortly before 6 p.m. ET. Apple's System Outage page also indicated problems with Apple Messages for Business, FaceTime, and HomeKit apps, all of which have been resolved. Users across different cell carriers experienced difficulties with messages and reported problems with FaceTime as well. While some users experienced only a short disruption, others encountered prolonged issues.
