Mercedes Unveils PureSpeed: A Limited Edition Open-Top Roadster

Mercedes-AMG revealed the first car in its ultra-limited 'Mythos' series, the PureSpeed. This open-top two-seater roadster is inspired by vintage race cars and Formula 1. The PureSpeed is based on the SL convertible, featuring unique design elements like a halo bar structure and flying buttresses behind the seats. Borrowing from the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar, the PureSpeed includes carbon fiber aero bits for improved aerodynamics. The powertrain is expected to be a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine, delivering up to 805 horsepower in E Performance guise. With only 250 units available, the PureSpeed is reserved for dedicated Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and collectors, promising exclusivity and a premium price tag.
