Memorial Day is fast approaching, and there are several events happening in Clarkton and the surrounding areas to honor the occasion. One of the key events to note is the Memorial Day Ceremony taking place at the Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy on MLK Drive. This solemn ceremony will be held from 4-4:45 p.m. to honor the fallen heroes who have bravely served our country.

Another important event to mark on your calendar is the Poppy Drive happening on Saturday at Walmart and Tractor Supply parking lot in Elizabethtown. Poppies will be distributed during this drive to commemorate the sacrifices made by our servicemen and servicewomen.

Additionally, there is a Hangout Hub Digital Art Workshop scheduled for May 31 at the Bladen County Public Library on N. Cypress St. This workshop is aimed at individuals aged 11-18 and will run from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Attendees can enjoy free snacks and participate in creative activities.
