Fortnite players worldwide are facing server outages as the game undergoes maintenance in preparation for the highly anticipated Chapter 5 Season 3 update. The downtime has caused frustration among gamers, with many taking to social media to express their disappointment.

According to online outage tracker DownDetector, there has been a significant increase in reported outages since early morning, indicating widespread issues with the game servers. Players have flooded platforms like Twitter with comments about the downtime, with some expressing their eagerness to get back online.

Following the scheduled maintenance, Fortnite update 30.00 is expected to launch, marking the beginning of Chapter 5 Season 3. As Season 2 comes to a close, players are eagerly anticipating the new content and features that will be introduced in the upcoming update.

Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, has announced that server downtime will begin at 7am BST to facilitate the launch of Chapter 5 Season 3. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes prior to the downtime to allow players to complete their ongoing matches. The maintenance is projected to last until approximately 12pm BST on Friday, extending beyond the usual duration of server downtime for major updates.

During the previous launch of Chapter 5 Season 2, server downtime lasted for 14 hours due to multiple extensions, causing frustrations among the player base. However, Epic Games aims to minimize any potential delays this time, with hopes that the outage will be limited to a shorter duration.
