One of your companions in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is Yoshi, a colorful character with a unique ability. In this game, Yoshi's color can vary, and it all comes down to timing.
When it comes to predicting which color Yoshi you'll get, it's all about understanding the timers. The color of Yoshi is determined by the amount of time it spends in the egg after you obtain it.
The process starts when you receive the egg from the hot dog stand near the Glitz Pit. At this point, an invisible timer begins counting down. The color of the Yoshi will be different depending on how long it takes for the egg to hatch, which occurs after the initial Iron Adonis Twins battle. The timer ceases once Jolene hands over the prize money and departs.
The colors and their corresponding hatch times are as follows: Green: 0-6 minutes, Red: 6-9 minutes, Blue: 9-12 minutes, Orange: 12-15 minutes, Pink: 15-18 minutes, Black: 18-19 minutes, White: 19-20 minutes. After 20 minutes, the timer will reset, cycling through the colors in the same order.
It's important to note that the color of Yoshi doesn't affect any of its stats or abilities. It's purely an aesthetic choice.
