Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has recently introduced the latest addition to its MR-G line, a flagship collection under the G-SHOCK brand. The new MR-G model, named MRG-B2100B, features a unique dimensional latticework dial and octagonal bezel inspired by the traditional Japanese art of kigumi woodwork. This innovative timepiece is the first in the 2100 series to carry the MR-G designation. Launched in 2019, the 2100 line incorporates a digital-analog hybrid design that puts a contemporary spin on the classic DW-5000C G-SHOCK model. With its striking octagonal bezel and sleek, minimalist appearance, the 2100 series has garnered global acclaim.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, the MRG-B2100B is built to withstand impact, featuring a latticework dial that draws on the intricate craftsmanship of kigumi wood joinery. The dial's unique corrugated surface is adorned with a series of openings that form an elegant geometric pattern, echoing the beauty of kumiko lattice work. Not only does this pattern serve as a design element, but it also allows ample light to pass through the openings, enabling solar power generation. The octagonal bezel of the 2100 line is meticulously crafted from 27 individual components, enabling precise polishing to achieve a flawless metal finish, even in hard-to-reach areas. Crafted using COBARIONTM, an ultra-hard alloy that surpasses pure titanium in toughness, the top bezel exudes durability and elegance. The band, constructed from DAT55G, a titanium alloy with superior hardness, further enhances the MRG-B2100B's fusion of metal refinement and G-SHOCK resilience.
