Independence Day is a time for celebration, and Boulder County is no exception. While the City of Boulder had to cancel its annual Ralphies Independence Day Blast due to challenges in recent years, there are still plenty of opportunities for fun and excitement in and around Boulder this year. From fireworks in Lafayette to a drone light show in Longmont, there is something for everyone to enjoy this Fourth of July.
One event worth checking out is the Boulder Symphony's Annual July 4 Concert Celebration at Glen Huntington Bandshell, featuring a performance of classic pieces and film scores. For those looking to get active, the 4K on the Fourth Fun Run at Avery Brewing Company offers a chance to show off your patriotic spirit in a fun run followed by beer and breakfast burritos. Additionally, the Colorado Music Festival will kick off on July 5 at Chautauqua Auditorium, showcasing world-renowned cellist Alisa Weilerstein.
If outdoor fun is more your style, Boulder Reservoir will have special hours on the Fourth of July for boating, swimming, and picnicking. Just remember, fireworks are prohibited throughout the city due to fire concerns, so be sure to enjoy them at designated events.
Erie will host a fireworks show on July 3, while Lafayette will have fireworks and fun activities at Waneka Lake Park on June 29. FAN EXPO Denver 2024 will kick off on July 4 at the Colorado Convention Center, offering a geeky celebration with movie screenings, dance parties, and a cosplay parade.
Downtown Denver will also have fireworks displays at Elitch Gardens and Coors Field on July 4 and 5, providing a spectacular end to the Independence Day celebrations.
