Boulder County Independence Day Celebrations

Independence Day is a time for celebration, and Boulder County is no exception. While the City of Boulder had to cancel its annual Ralphies Independence Day Blast due to challenges in recent years, there are still plenty of opportunities for fun and excitement in and around Boulder this year. From fireworks in Lafayette to a drone light show in Longmont, there is something for everyone to enjoy this Fourth of July.

Events in Boulder

One event worth checking out is the Boulder Symphony's Annual July 4 Concert Celebration at Glen Huntington Bandshell, featuring a performance of classic pieces and film scores. For those looking to get active, the 4K on the Fourth Fun Run at Avery Brewing Company offers a chance to show off your patriotic spirit in a fun run followed by beer and breakfast burritos. Additionally, the Colorado Music Festival will kick off on July 5 at Chautauqua Auditorium, showcasing world-renowned cellist Alisa Weilerstein.

If outdoor fun is more your style, Boulder Reservoir will have special hours on the Fourth of July for boating, swimming, and picnicking. Just remember, fireworks are prohibited throughout the city due to fire concerns, so be sure to enjoy them at designated events.

Fireworks in Erie, Lafayette, Longmont, and Louisville

Erie will host a fireworks show on July 3, while Lafayette will have fireworks and fun activities at Waneka Lake Park on June 29. In Longmont, celebrations include a concert in Roosevelt Park and a street party with carnival games and live music. The city will also have a drone and fireworks show, featuring 300 drones and a fireworks display set to music.

Louisville will host the Let Freedom Run 5K/10K at the Rec Center, followed by fireworks celebrations at Coal Creek Golf Course. Superior will have a parade and pancake festival at Superior Community Park, along with other family-friendly events. Additionally, the Coal Creek Canyon Fourth Fest will offer a morning of festivities, including a pancake breakfast, parade, and cornhole tournament.

Beyond Boulder County

For those looking to venture beyond Boulder County, the Louisville Slugger Independence Day Tournament will feature competitive girls softball clubs from across the country at fields throughout the area. FAN EXPO Denver 2024 will kick off on July 4 at the Colorado Convention Center, offering a geeky celebration with movie screenings, dance parties, and a cosplay parade.
