Sam Mayer's Victory Parade in Franklin: NASCAR Driver Returns Home for Fourth of July Celebrations

Sam Mayer, a NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, will be participating in Franklin's Fourth of July Parade in 2024. The 21-year-old Franklin native, who drives the No. 1 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, will be joined by his family, including his father Scott Mayer, a former IndyCar Series driver. Mayer expressed his excitement about returning to his hometown for the parade and being able to see his family and friends amidst his busy race schedule.

The parade in Franklin is set to take place on July 4, with the children's parade starting at 10:30 a.m. and the main parade kicking off at 11 a.m. The route will begin at the corner of West Forest Hill Avenue and South Loomis Road, heading north to West Drexel Avenue, turning east, and concluding at Lions Legend Park. Mayer's NASCAR career has seen significant success, with his first victory occurring in the Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2020. Since then, he has become a six-time winner in the Xfinity Series, with his most recent victory at the Hy-Vee Perks 250 in Iowa on June 15. Currently ranked 10th in the series, Mayer has secured a spot in the playoffs with two wins, seven top five finishes, and eight top 10 finishes this season.
