Unlocking the Market Insights: McDonald's Introduces Special Grade Garlic Sauce

McDonald's is finally bringing a global fan-favorite to the U.S. for the first time ever. Starting on July 9, the fast-food giant will be adding a new dipping sauce called Special Grade Garlic Sauce to its menu. This sauce, inspired by the Black Garlic Sauce from Japan, has a savory base of garlic and soy sauce notes with a hint of tangy sweetness. It is the first-ever garlic sauce to be available in U.S. McDonald's restaurants.

McNuggets with a Japanese Twist

The new Special Grade Garlic Sauce will be available at McDonald's locations nationwide for a limited time. Customers who want to try this unique sauce will have to order it through the McDonald's app. The sauce can be obtained for free with any McNugget purchase or as an add-on side to any meal for a small additional cost. Each purchase of the Special Grade Garlic Sauce will also include a free 30-day trial for the streaming service Crunchyroll, where fans can watch full episodes of the popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen.

The packaging of the Special Grade Garlic Sauce will feature eight unique lid designs, each showcasing a different character from Jujutsu Kaisen. This collaboration with the anime series is part of McDonald's recent efforts to embrace manga and anime culture. Earlier this year, the fast-food chain introduced WcDonalds sauce, inspired by the McDonald's look-alike restaurant seen in many anime shows and movies.

The introduction of the Special Grade Garlic Sauce is just the latest in a series of global fan-favorites that McDonald's has brought to the U.S. In the past, the chain has introduced items like the U.K.'s Chicken Big Mac and Canadian Squishmallow Happy Meal Toys. With the success of these international offerings, it's likely that more unique menu items will make their way stateside in the future.
