However, the processed menu was more cost-effective and had a longer shelf life.

The Nova system, used to classify foods based on their processing level, has been criticized for not considering the nutritional value of foods. Some foods classified as ultra-processed by the Nova system can actually provide important nutrients. Rejecting foods solely based on their processing level may lead to a lack of key nutrients in the diet. It is essential to consider the nutritional value and affordability of foods when making dietary choices.
