IndiaMART InterMESH saw a significant stake sale recently, as WestBridge Crossover Fund LLC disposed of 7.3 lakh shares, amounting to a 1.2 per cent stake. The deal size for this transaction was a whopping Rs 189.87 crore. The shares were purchased by SBI Mutual Fund and Morgan Stanley Asia (Singapore) at the same price. Following this development, the stock price of IndiaMART InterMESH rose by 1.25 per cent, closing at Rs 2,648.80 apiece on the BSE.

In a separate block deal on the BSE, Rajat Agrawal, a promoter of Gravita India, sold a 2 per cent stake in the company for Rs 191 crore. Agrawal offloaded 14 lakh shares at an average price of Rs 1,365 each, bringing the total transaction value to Rs 191.10 crore. As a result of this stake sale, Rajat Agrawal's shareholding in Gravita India decreased from 41.35 per cent to 39.35 per cent. Additionally, the combined stake of promoters in the company dropped from 66.48 per cent to 64.48 per cent. The shares were acquired by Oxbow Capital Management based in Hong Kong at the same price.

Following the sale, the stock price of Gravita India surged by 11.98 per cent, closing at Rs 1,541 apiece on the BSE. Gravita India is primarily involved in the manufacturing and recycling of lead, aluminium, and plastic products.

The transactions involving IndiaMART InterMESH and Gravita India reflect the ongoing activity in the private equity sector. As more funds and mutual funds like Morgan Stanley and SBI Mutual Fund actively participate in these deals, it is expected that such transactions will continue to impact the market.
