While the VPN service offered by Google One will be discontinued in the coming month, Pixel owners can still enjoy a virtual private network experience. The service has been rebranded as 'Pixel VPN by Google.'

Pixel 8, 8 Pro, and 8a now come with a more integrated VPN experience, featuring a dedicated app instead of relying on the Google One client. This new app does not display a persistent '1' notification, but instead, users will see a 'key' status bar icon on the right side. The optimized version of VPN by Google One is designed for superior performance on Pixel devices and offers a seamless experience within the phone's settings.

Following the update, Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a, and Fold will also receive the new Pixel VPN experience. The Play Store listing for the app has been changed to 'Pixel VPN by Google,' with the Google One icon being replaced by a blue shield featuring the letter 'G' at the center. Although the updated version is reflected in the screenshots, it is not yet available. Owners of Pixel 8 and above can anticipate an upcoming update to enjoy the new features.

However, some users have reported encountering an account error when trying to enable VPN by Google One on a 7 Pro device running Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.2. It is likely that a new app or system update will address this issue in the near future, enhancing the overall VPN experience for Pixel users.
