Breaking stereotypes and pushing boundaries, The New Group's production of 'All of Me' directed by Ashley Brooke Monroe challenges the stigma surrounding disability. The play follows the blossoming relationship between Lucy, played by Madison Ferris, a sardonic young woman reliant on a mobility scooter, and Alfonso, played by Danny J. Gomez, a kind-hearted man who uses a power chair. Despite their connection, obstacles arise in the form of their protective mothers, portrayed by Kyra Sedgwick and Florencia Lozano, and the societal divide between them due to financial disparities. Winters's sharp and witty script is brought to life by Ferris and Gomez, who skillfully use their physicality to add depth to their characters. The performance at the Pershing Square Signature Center promises laughter and heartwarming moments. As the story unfolds, audiences can expect twists and turns that challenge preconceived notions and celebrate the beauty of love in all its forms.
