On Saturday , Aug. 17 , the Tase T. Lentil 5k Fun Run will start at 7:30 a.m. , followed by Sports Tournaments at 9 a.m. The WSECU Grand Parade will begin at 11 a.m. , following a route from Riverview and Benewah to Lentil Lane . The festival will open at noon in Reaney Park , offering vendors , a non - profit marketplace , live music , a beer garden , and food . The Lil ' Lentil Land will have activities like science demos by Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories and cooking demonstrations with a Pulse Expert.
Throughout the day , attendees will have the chance to meet various personalities , including poster artist Rachel Jones , Pulse Family of the Year Max and Phil , Lentiful CEO Ben Bacon , and USA Pulses CEO Tim Mcgreevey . Free lentil chili will be served at 5 p.m. by Ziply Fiber and USA Dry Pea and Lentil Council .
