Canada Basketball National Championships at St. Johns Campus

More than 300 athletes , coaches , and managers from across 11 provinces and territories will gather on the St. Johns campus for the 2024 Canada Basketball Under 15 and Under 17 womens national championships , starting on Monday , Aug. 5 . The tournaments will take place in the Physical Education building gym and the Field House , with the final games scheduled for Saturday , Aug. 10 . The event offers a unique opportunity for athletes to experience a large - scale athletic competition at Memorials St. Johns campus before potentially representing their province or territory in the 2025 Canada Games next year.

The athletes , coaches , and managers will be accommodated on campus and will have access to the universitys athletic facilities , resembling the setup for the upcoming Canada Games . The Canada Games host society will also be present during the championship days to provide information and answer questions about the Games . Additionally , more than 100 volunteers and numerous parents and supporters are expected to participate in the event , with spectator parking designated in parking lot 1A to accommodate the influx of visitors .
