The actor 's comedy band Tenacious D was on stage in Sydney , Australia , on Sunday when Black brought a birthday cake for bandmate Kyle Gass and asked him to make a wish . Many on social media have taken issue with Gass ' comments , arguing it was too soon to joke about the attempted assassination of Trump .
