With an astounding 10,224 unique players from 63 countries signing up for the tournament, Evo 2024 is set to be the largest event in Evo history and the biggest tournament ever in the world of esports. This year, the tournament will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, moving from its previous location at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center and Arena.
Evo 2024 will feature an impressive lineup of games, including popular titles such as Tekken 8, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1, Guilty Gear Strive, The King Of Fighters XV, and Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes. The 10,224 registrants for this year's event mark a significant increase from last year's numbers, with over 7,000 players signed up for Street Fighter 6 alone. The tournament is also set to break records for the largest Street Fighter III: Third Strike event and the all-time attendance record for esports events.
Street Fighter 6 has emerged as the top game at Evo 2024, with an impressive 5,265 players registered to compete. Tekken 8 follows closely behind with 4,646 entrants, showcasing its popularity among the fighting game community. Guilty Gear Strive, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, and Street Fighter III: Third Strike also have a substantial number of entrants, with 2,058, 1,377, and 1,101 players respectively.
Despite its popularity, Mortal Kombat 1 struggled to attract as many participants as other titles, with only 645 players competing in the tournament. On the other hand, The King of Fighters 15 had the fewest entrants this year, with 375 players taking part in the event. While these numbers may seem low compared to other games, the overall excitement and anticipation surrounding Evo 2024 are at an all-time high.
