UNC Tar Heels Baseball Coach's Father's Day Victory - Sports

Star center fielder Vance Honeycutt credits his initial exposure to baseball to his father, Bob, who used to be a Diamond Heel himself. Scott Forbes, who took over as head coach in 2021 from longtime skipper Mike Fox, delivered a special message to his dad, Harvey, earlier on Fathers Day. Later today  Sunday, June 16  Harvey will get to watch his ACC Coach of the Year son lead UNC into a College World Series battle with top-ranked Tennessee.

The Carolina Baseball team's recent success in the College World Series can be attributed to the strong leadership of Coach Forbes and the exceptional performance of players like Honeycutt. On Friday, June 14, the Diamond Heels secured a 3-2 comeback win over ACC rival Virginia, thanks to walk-off heroics from Honeycutt.
