Mario & Luigi: Brothership Coming to Nintendo Switch in November

A new Mario & Luigi adventure, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch this November, marking the first new game in the franchise in almost a decade. The game was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, with a release date of November 7, 2024. This upcoming installment will be the sixth entry in the Mario & Luigi series of action-role-playing games, which originally began with Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga back in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance.

In Mario & Luigi: Brothership, players will join the iconic plumber duo, Mario and Luigi, as they embark on a seafaring adventure filled with new challenges and allies. Among the new characters introduced are electric plug-inspired allies named Connie and Snoutlet, who will assist the brothers in their journey through the world of Concordia. Princess Peach, Bowser, and his minions will also make appearances, adding to the familiar cast of characters in this role-playing video game.

 In the first trailer for Mario & Luigi: Brothership, we see Mario and Luigi facing an all-new electrical threat, and joined by electric plug-inspired allies Connie and Snoutlet, on their seafaring adventure. More familiar friends and foes - Princess Peach and Bowser and his minions - are also here. In Mario & Luigi tradition, the plumber-adventurer duo team up to use evolved Bros. moves in combat and for platforming as they adventure through the world of Concordia.

One of the key features of the game is Shipshape Island, a part-ship, part-island method of transport that will take players to various environments such as tropical rainforests and bustling cities. Players will need to navigate these diverse landscapes while utilizing their powerful Bros. moves to overcome obstacles and claim victory in the dynamic twist on turn-based combat that the game promises.

 The June 2024 Nintendo Direct opened with the reveal trailer for Mario & Luigi Brothership, the first new game in the franchise in almost nine years. Gameplay and cinematics were shown, with Nintendo executive Shinya Takahashi announcing the game as a "seafaring adventure" where players can unleash "evolved Bros. moves" with Mario and Luigi. Gameplay promises to feature a "dynamic twist" on traditional turn-based combat. 

With an exciting blend of new and familiar elements, Mario & Luigi: Brothership is shaping up to be a must-play title for fans of the series. As players set sail on Shipshape Island and explore the vast world of Concordia, they can look forward to encountering both new friends and old foes in this upcoming role-playing video game experience.
