Michael McDonald has opened up about a failed drug dealing attempt during the '70s. The singer, known for his work with Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers, shared in his memoir 'What a Fool Believes' how he and Walter Becker planned to make easy money by selling cocaine. However, their plan quickly backfired when they ended up consuming most of the drugs themselves, bringing their illicit venture to an abrupt halt.

Despite his rocky past, Michael McDonald is now focused on his music career. Currently, he is gearing up for a busy summer of touring with The Doobie Brothers across North America. The tour, which also includes shows with the Eagles, promises to be a highlight for fans of classic rock.

McDonald's return to touring comes after a hiatus due to the pandemic. The singer had initially planned a 50th-anniversary tour with The Doobie Brothers in 2019, but the global health crisis postponed the celebrations. Nevertheless, the tour eventually kicked off in 2021, marking McDonald's first extensive run with the band in over two decades.
