Nissan has recently released a 'do not drive' warning for around 83,920 vehicles manufactured between 2002 and 2006 that are equipped with Takata airbags. These vehicles, including certain Nissan Sentras, Pathfinders, and Infiniti QX4s, were already part of open recalls due to potential airbag explosions. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) highlighted the risk of frontal passenger airbag inflators exploding, leading to serious injuries or even fatalities. As a result, Nissan is urging owners to check for open recalls, schedule free repairs, and follow safety guidelines provided by the manufacturer. The company is also offering complimentary towing, mobile repair services, and loaner vehicles in select areas.
